Bottom up, Top down

"I have come to turn the world upside down"

Notice the binary appositional motion in Taoism. In math, and in Taoism, the difference between appositional and oppositional is one of perspective. Appositional means that two sides of a spaciated spectrum are mutually defining, mutually reinforcing. Oppositional means that we are choosing to look at the two extreme ends of a spectrum as if they are linear, rather than looking toward the (0) Value Centrist Axis of greatest confluence and affinity. Both ways are correct, but a merely linear perspective gives us only one-dimensional information in a four-dimensional Physical Universe.

Currently designing with Dynamic Facilitation visioning structures using Star of David with one triangle pointing up and the other down. Current (0) Core Vector moment is "Gap Boundary" between two triangles in Diamond position. Go to top of Triangle to anchor whatever enculturated problem, issue, lifestream trajectory you choose. This is the proto-historic moment. Go to bottom of Diamond for Goal-Future Vision of problem, issue, lifestream trajectory. This is our projected, envisioned, hoped-for future of regeneration.

Use ancient wisdom assumption of "as at beginning, so at end" and "as past, so future" etc. All temporal and spaciated-temporal linguistic appositionals across a field trajectory.

I think (but have not yet tried any application of my theory) that this same graphic trajectory could be used to capture the appositional information in any polarized situation.

Once that is all diagrammed, I am working with merging the dia-mond shape into a Star of David, so the two Binary perspectives overlap to form a star. the current Moment is now the horizontal axis dividing the three upper star-points from the three future (Exformed-Projected-Prophesied-Enthymematic) star-points.

The alignment dynamic is the central vertical axis from past to future, from origin toward re-emergent balance. This is, I suspect, a Permanently Encultured (Permaculture) Power Balance axis. The centrist values spin toward this axis. More extreme current polarities appear as the +/- Holonic vertex mini-triangles on the "exterior-lateral" points of the Star of David. These are the non-consensual "Concern" positions. Their "solutions" may be more obvious by looking at these four "Concern" points on the star as fractal polarities of "Before+After+Value+Disvalue".

By the way, there is a structural-temporal homology with the sequential development of Chemistry's Table of Elements and Biology's RNA/DNA ribbon-sequence when they are imaged under a staged development assumption. There are images of syntax- triangles alternately pointing toward each other, then pointing away from each other available on wikipedia, probably under "RNA" and under "Table of Elements." In 3D, these look like the RNA/DNA spiraling vertexes that may be familiar from Remi's Sufi-informed/exformed cosmological perspective.

Not sure if any of that helps. Sincerely hope it does.

A few years ago, initially working through our Global Resonance Network, a beautiful lady named JoAnn Kite went to work building a database of spiritual and interspiritual quotations. Working with a slow AOL dial-up connection in her spare time, while working as a cashier in an inner city drug store for $8.50/hour, this voracious reader built an online database of more than 11,000 quotations taken from 635 highly credible books.

She organized her quotes in terms of themes, and her 157 quotes on "Opposites" are available here:

http://interspirit.net/spirit/spirit.cfm?formcat=100028

JoAann's database was largely driven by her instinct for "Oneness", and with no real academic education, she had a remarkable sense for the subtle and powerful insights that she was gathering from everywhere. I tended to see her as a savant -- somebody with a powerful core instinct somewhat beyond explanation. When JoAnn passed away a few months ago, her Facebook page was flooded with loving concern coming from hundreds of people, and those messages are still coming in.

TOP DOWN / BOTTOM UP

I wanted to comment on this theme -- particularly as regards the issue of "circle versus hierarchy", which often comes up in discussions of circle. A few years ago, we were building an international conference project that absolutely exploded in anger over this issue. We do need some clear holistic thinking on this point.

In big political terms -- this question originally came to my attention through the work of Transpartisan Alliance founder Joseph McCormick, who spearheaded the emerging USA national concern with the "red state / blue state" divide that seems to be disabling our national self-governance. Joseph spoke of the USA as a "democratic republic", and his logo shows the circle ("blue state") energy balanced with the triangle/hierarchy ("red state").

This idealism can be a tough gig, and currently Joseph's work is on the shelf; his domain name now points to a financial planning site. But Joseph deserves a lot of credit for getting this concept on the map. Emerging new political ideas in the USA that revolve around "center" owe a lot to his pioneering efforts.

CIRCLE / HIERARCHY

The circle/hierarchy tension is almost the same question. Are these forms "opposites" -- or complementary facets of a natural organic whole that we do well to understand in its full breadth?

From my point of view, this often-heated issue is almost completely resolved with a glance at a graphic I posted yesterday.

A "circle" DOES have an internal structure. It does not have to be seen as a structureless blob of Kumbaya Oneness. Circles can be highly ordered, and this ongoing tension understood as a key facet of the creative power of circles. Yes, do bring your tensions into the circle -- as Joseph McCormick suggests (and based on long experience, he often argued that repressing those tensions in a political group is simply counter-productive). For those who see this question in these terms -- let's incorporate both "feminine" (oneness/wholeness/inclusion) and "masculine" (structure/framework/form) facets. One is not complete without the other.

E PLURIBUS UNUM

"Out of Many, One". This is the vision to "form a more perfect union".

This simple basic "taxonomy" tree is a direct map of the circle framework. Circles have "centers" -- and so do trees (their trunk, their "axis"). The top level of the taxonomic tree is "One". The bottom level is "Many".

We are looking at powerful integral ideas -- ideas I believe, if articulately mastered and refined -- can lead to explosive creative designs and network projects that can and will change the world.
