I am beginning to see how to interconnect this very broad and inclusive global movement through the Sacred Tree / Axis Mundi model. This is not always so easy on the finite human brain -- this is a lot of stuff to see at the same time -- but once the focal aperture opens in the right way, to the right level of abstraction -- ideas become visual and easier to understand.

This is just an initial sketch. It could include vastly more detail. And in this format -- there is no correlation with "issues" or worldly concerns -- the problems of democratic self-governance that we somehow have to solve collectively -- and ideally, under some very balanced and corrected/cross-correlated version of "God's Will". It's this potential for a universalized version of collective attunement with the Divine or Whole that makes this alliance model important -- so insofar as possible, it is essential to do this perfectly.

FOUNDATIONAL AGREEMENT - BASIS FOR AN INTERSPIRITUAL ALLIANCE

In this diagram, we have "the major religions of the world" on the left side, and various "groups and movements" on the right. This is no absolute or systematic categorization -- it's just an initial sketch, and can be adapted in many ways.

The diagram shows how/why each major group might "plug in" to the same common framework, around some fundamental common factors -- all of which are common to the Sacred Tree / Axis Mundi.

There is a lot of potential flexibility here. "Does everybody have to agree to everything?" Why would that be necessary? Let's maintain freedom and individual initiative at the highest possible level, and let this Tree grow on an "a la carte" basis -- cafeteria style: pick the items you want -- and pay for them....

Maybe what we should/could do -- is "itemize" the items or particular facets or practices/beliefs that enable each each group or religion to bond to the common tree -- and hence to all other branches on the common tree.

That's something we could do with a database -- doing a survey of all these groups and religions, make a single list of individual things each group believes or does that link it to the Sacred Tree of Community / Axis Mundi -- and then individual people or groups could (despite the aesthetic resistance of some adamant intuitives and right-brainers who don't like boxes) check off all those points/attributes where they do agree.

This approach does begin to open up some potential for activism. Maybe we could start building some tools from the My Alliance pages -- http://interspirit.net/alliance/myalliance.cfm -- to enable outreach for anyone who gets excited about this model and starts seeing how this "heart-centered networking" can/could be essential to the wholeness and vitality of civilization.

The next immediate step, no doubt -- is more detail for the particular groups. But maybe that detail could be invoked through invitation and relationships with groups and individuals we want to talk to. We don't have to tell them how they link to this universal form. They can tell us -- and we can simply be connection-brokers -- healing the world by connecting the pieces around the fundamentals of Grace.

Maybe our initial categories are

  • Related symbolism from this group or tradition (what symbols do they use that are like the tree or axis, and in what way?)
  • What doctrines do they advocate that are related to or identical to whatever appears or coalesces as the central doctrine of this Axis/Tree?
  • What practices do they advocate that relate to the practices that seem common to the Axis?

In loose terms, we are saying something like -- there IS a common underlying connection between all these various traditions. We can identify it, we can link all the groups and traditions together through it, and we can bring all their respective collective expertise and insight into a common framework through this connection. This integral gathering process is a huge assessment and inventory process, that finds all the wisdom assets of the human community ("Anima Mundi" - the world soul), and supposedly brings all this collective power and insight together in one place, and into one focus.
