I keep thinking that the range of influences on the interspirituality movement make it almost mandatory for its leaders and voices today to be well-read on the general subject of religion, of its history, of its influence on culture, of its psychology, of its common ground or core or center as found in all the world's traditions.
Here's a few books I think people here in this Alliance would do well to know about, and do even better to read with care.
- The Varieties of Religious Experience, by William James
- The Coming of the Cosmic Christ, by Matthew Fox
- Conscious Evolution, Awakening the Power of our Social Potential, by Barbara Marx Hubbard
- The Coming Interspiritual Age, by Kurt Johnson and David Ord
- The Mystic Heart: Discovering a Universal Spirituality in the World's Religions
- American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers, and the Making of a Nation, by Jon Meacham
