A treasury of religious and spiritual quotations from ancient times to the twentieth century

1 "Divinity is not in some remote heaven, seated on a throne. Divinity is love….Wherever goodness, beauty, truth, love, are – there is the divine." Harry Emerson Fosdick (1878-1969), Liberal Protestant minister, teacher, author, 'The Hope of the World'

3 "It will not be long before the human mass closes in upon itself and groups all its members in a definitively realised unity. Respect for one and the same law, one and the same orientation, one and the same spirit, are tending to overlay the permanent diversity of individuals and nations. Wait but a little longer, and we shall form but one solid block. The cement is setting." Pierre Teilhard deChardin (1881-1955), French priest and paleontologist, 'The Gread Monad'

4 "Great becomes the fruit, great the advantage of earnest contemplation, when it is set round with upright conduct." Buddha (563-483 bce), 'The Dialogues'

9 "Throughout this varied and eternal world Soul is the only element." Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822), British poet, 'Queen Mab'

10 "As the human species awakens to itself as a collection of immortal souls learning together, caring for the environment and the earth will become a matter of the heart, the natural response of souls moving toward their full potential." Gary Zukav, 'Evolution and Business'

11 "Is not the sea – though vast and deep – a single drop? Is not the Earth – though flung so far – a single sphere? Are not the spheres – though numberless – a single universe? Likewise is mankind but a single Man – likewise is Man, with all his worlds, a singleness complete." Mikhail Naimy (1889-1988), 'The Book of Mirdad – A Lighthouse and a Haven'

14 "There is a land where no doubt nor sorrow have rule: where the terror of Death is no more. There the woods of spring are a-bloom, and the fragrant scent 'He is I' is borne on the wind: There the Bee of the Heart is deeply immersed, and desires no other joy." Kabir (1440?-1518), Indian Sufi master, 'The One Hundred Poems of Kabir'

15 "In the Buddhist approach, life and death are seen as one whole, where death is the beginning of another chapter of life. Death is a mirror in which the entire meaning of life is reflected." Sogyal Rinpoche, contemporary Buddhist monk and author, 'The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying'

Dear Bruce: What a remarkable synchronicity it is, to open up this page, and find several amazing quotes from the much-beloved ecospiritual community of Findhorn! This is just another "coincidence" for me, as part of a seemingly-ongoing set of experiences regarding Findhorn and the Nature Spirits. Thank you for including the Spirit of Findhorn on your website! ... By the way, I have been trying to log-in to my page, so that I may update my email address, but am at the moment unable to do so; as of last week, I haven't been able to access my Gmail account, and have set up a new Gmail address: roslynrus33@gmail.com . I shall send you an email directly regarding this. Many blessings, Roslyn.

IlluminatingSpirit - Samantha Spiritual Gathering Westhampton, NY

At Samantha's Spiritual Gathering the mission and purpose is to empty the chalice/temple (self) of all things co-mingled on the Earth plane with earthly people and to Allow the self/being on all levels, to fill up with the Spirit of the Divine Creator... that Spirit which is enmeshed, saturated, and intertwined with your Spirit. Bringing that Spirit down into the Chalice of your beingness...your physical body as well, helps everyone to be empowered through their own Spirit guided by the Divine Creator of many names. The Global Network is a Gathering, sharing Spirit to Spirit and I am humbly grateful to partake in sharing from my space of Spirit. Thank You, Samantha Paitakis

A group of us spiritual seekers have found a simple, lighthearted but powerful way to build resonance by " a game" for creation of heaven on earth. Here it is: The Looking For Light Game We keep our minds searching only for light, for good, for God in every situation and circumstance. What will happen very quickly is quite amazing. We begin to “see” God everywhere—in a beautiful sunset, sunlight on water, a child’s laughter, a mother’s loving gaze, a grandfather’s helping hands. Science has proven that our subconscious picks up 40 million bits of data per second. So once we desire to see only good, our subconscious begins scouting everywhere for proof and whatever we are looking for, we will find. Playing the game quickly brings us into a state of joyful expectation. It brings us to a higher vantage point in which to “see” things. It raises our consciousness. The joy we feel radiates through our whole being. Through the natural laws of resonance and entrainment, it affects the quantum field around us. Our elevated vibration attracts the very good we are seeking and creates more good. Can you imagine what our world would be like if everyone’s focus was held in joyful expectation for good to appear in every moment of every day? It would transform our world into one of peace and joy and love. All that needs to happen is for enough of us to play the game. Come join us. It will change our world forever. “To the illumined mind the whole world burns and sparkles with light.” ~Emerson If anyone would like to share their experiences while participating, we'd love to hear about it. Is there anyplace you can post this? Thank you Judith and Patricia
