MANY VOICES / ONE TRUTH

SPIRITUAL GENIUS, THE MASTERY OF LIFE'S MEANING
Winifred Gallagher
The author interviews several people who are spiritual geniuses, those who are masters of Life's meaning and how to express this in their life experiences.

1 "Once a person truly awakens to the hidden holiness that underlies and unifies creation, his or her inevitable behavioral response is goodness, or treating others as the 'self' that all share."

2 "That God is one means there's a oneness at the core of all being in whom everything…converges." Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

3 "Mind has great power, and its nature is the same for all beings. So, at a very deep level, one person's enlightenment is enlightenment for all." Tenzin Palmo, English Buddhist nun

4 "The story line in all religions tells of a happy ending that blossoms as a result of ordeals necessarily confronted and surmounted. These trials add to the ultimate glory." Huston Smith

5 "Do you see what people appear to be, or the sacred presence coming through them? Dr. Tony Campolo, American Baptist minister

6 "The whole world is much more globally connected. That means we're aware of our neighbors as being fully human just as they are, not as we think they should be. We can't go backwards from this point. We've got to move forward." Bette Edl, American Franciscan hermit

7 "The awareness that comes out of prayer and the stillness of listening to the Spirit is releasing an energy for a new beginning. For now, we're in that place where we're groaning with all creation to be born anew." Bette Edl, American Franciscan hermit

8 "Pure consciousness, called the universal Self, is all that exists."

9 "God loves us a billion times more than a mother! Far beyond anything we can experience in our minds and intellects!" Karunamayi, Hindu spiritual mother

10 "Once one has truly realized the mind's true nature…you just see incredibly expansive interconnection." Tenzin Palmo, English Buddhist nun

11 "I understand God in terms of love, compassion, justice. The Qur'an says everything in the world has been created for a just purpose." Riffat Hassan, Muslim Feminist teacher

12 "God is mysteriously the source of our true self." Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

13 "Things are more integrated, unified, whole than they seem to us." Huston Smith

14 "The sacred isn't just 'up there' or in some afterlife but down here, right now."

15 "All religions are equally valid means to the same end: awakening the selfless, unconditional love that…is unreservedly given to all without expectations."

16 "God doesn't just hear our prayers but prays them through us as well. There's a huge transformation when you forget your self and realize that your hands and eyes are God's. Once you're with, or the same as, God, you aren't praying for your own needs, because you have none." Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

17 "The Christian 'unio mystico', Jewish 'devekut', Muslin 'fana', Hindu 'samadhi', and Zen 'Kensho' manifest the same intense consciousness of ultimate reality's underlying unity and goodness."

18 "Spiritual genius is the uniquely human ability to seek life's meaning. It's the voice inside us that keeps asking What's it all about? Who am I? How can I make a difference? This inclination to wonder why we exist is not rarefied, but a basic human trait… We're born with a craving to know our larger purpose."

19 "The world's apparent brokenness conceals a hidden unity." Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

20 "When you talk about God, you're talking about what connects everything to everything else." Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

21 "I just have to hold people in my prayer and love them and smile and treat them as if they're doing the best they can." Bette Edl, American Franciscan hermit

22 "We're each part of something that's much bigger and better than what meets the eye, and if we keep that in mind, our hearts will be in the right place. Life will be all right, because its ups and downs will be seen as what they are – threads in a great fabric whose beauty depends on bright and dark colors."

23 "God is the self of the universe, so in finding your true inner self, you find God." Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

24 "I do think we're all connected. When a part of society does something special, there are ripples." Rosalie Bertell, Grey Nun of the Sacred Heart

25 "Find the divine in everything. There has to be a part of you that knows that, at the end of the day, it's all working for God." Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

Dear Bruce: What a remarkable synchronicity it is, to open up this page, and find several amazing quotes from the much-beloved ecospiritual community of Findhorn! This is just another "coincidence" for me, as part of a seemingly-ongoing set of experiences regarding Findhorn and the Nature Spirits. Thank you for including the Spirit of Findhorn on your website! ... By the way, I have been trying to log-in to my page, so that I may update my email address, but am at the moment unable to do so; as of last week, I haven't been able to access my Gmail account, and have set up a new Gmail address: roslynrus33@gmail.com . I shall send you an email directly regarding this. Many blessings, Roslyn.

IlluminatingSpirit - Samantha Spiritual Gathering Westhampton, NY

At Samantha's Spiritual Gathering the mission and purpose is to empty the chalice/temple (self) of all things co-mingled on the Earth plane with earthly people and to Allow the self/being on all levels, to fill up with the Spirit of the Divine Creator... that Spirit which is enmeshed, saturated, and intertwined with your Spirit. Bringing that Spirit down into the Chalice of your beingness...your physical body as well, helps everyone to be empowered through their own Spirit guided by the Divine Creator of many names. The Global Network is a Gathering, sharing Spirit to Spirit and I am humbly grateful to partake in sharing from my space of Spirit. Thank You, Samantha Paitakis

A group of us spiritual seekers have found a simple, lighthearted but powerful way to build resonance by " a game" for creation of heaven on earth. Here it is: The Looking For Light Game We keep our minds searching only for light, for good, for God in every situation and circumstance. What will happen very quickly is quite amazing. We begin to “see” God everywhere—in a beautiful sunset, sunlight on water, a child’s laughter, a mother’s loving gaze, a grandfather’s helping hands. Science has proven that our subconscious picks up 40 million bits of data per second. So once we desire to see only good, our subconscious begins scouting everywhere for proof and whatever we are looking for, we will find. Playing the game quickly brings us into a state of joyful expectation. It brings us to a higher vantage point in which to “see” things. It raises our consciousness. The joy we feel radiates through our whole being. Through the natural laws of resonance and entrainment, it affects the quantum field around us. Our elevated vibration attracts the very good we are seeking and creates more good. Can you imagine what our world would be like if everyone’s focus was held in joyful expectation for good to appear in every moment of every day? It would transform our world into one of peace and joy and love. All that needs to happen is for enough of us to play the game. Come join us. It will change our world forever. “To the illumined mind the whole world burns and sparkles with light.” ~Emerson If anyone would like to share their experiences while participating, we'd love to hear about it. Is there anyplace you can post this? Thank you Judith and Patricia
