Subject: Thank you - Focalpoint vision
Date: October 19, 2014

Thanks to everybody who took a few minutes to show up and click some tags into our brand-new and very hopeful framework.

We've now got 386 tags (with a few repetitions) in the system, which you can view from here:

http://networknation.net/fp/tags.cfm

There's a lot of growing to do here if this project is to become more than a flash-in-the-pan. Like I read yesterday on a professional email list for "ontologists" (people who study scientific semantics in the computer world), if this is going anywhere, it's going to take "librarians and gardeners".

But maybe we'll find them, and I'd say this is a very hopeful beginning. So again, thank you.

Next steps will involve some ways to create sub-categories, so we can really get into specific details. This has got to be easy to do, with a lot of integrity. But my guess is, these ways will emerge. Just let it come...

On the broader Focalpoint vision -- I wanted to briefly go over what this is about, why it might be unique, and why it might become uniquely empowering for a brilliant and inspired holistic movement that really does see the big picture -- but tends to remain scattered and is having a hard time putting the pieces together.

The front page of the site shows a broad simple vision of a collaborative design for creating unity. Yes, it's a little tricky when we are doing what we can to "put together a jigsaw puzzle" when we don't have a shared image of what the final picture will/should look like -- and might disagree quite a bit about it.

But let's say we start off with "listening" -- and make sure we really assimilate whatever people bring to us. Let's trust their motivation, their good intentions, their "heart" -- and yes, their skill and expertise and mastery of various domains....

This image shows the upstream information flow, as some local people, in some group, get their "tags" and basic elements all together in one place and are sorting out how they want to group these elements --

It all starts with this process --

And then -- it gets gathered and correlated as we work through a process of converging agreement, probably involving "resonance" and fundamentals of "group process" -- agreements about how we are going to work together in the context of our very real "diversity" (the basic fact that we do not agree on everything, but do want to work together constructively).

As these tags and individual points of view are correlated, they come together in a process that moves from scattered independent tags or "post-it notes", through a converging and fusing process that involves co-creativity and trust-building and cohesion/integrity, and from there goes to a fully interconnected holistic/integral network that links all these once-independent elements into a context of shared agreement and understanding.

I think where this is going is towards a kind of outreach/engagement/invitation process -- where people who feel some spark of motivation around some theme -- "people who care" -- show up into this framework, to encourage some particular group or special individual to join their energies into this context.

NETWEAVERS

We can set up a simple invitation process, where "netweavers" can complete a little form that gets the details about some person or group, and then sends them an invitation with a "fast click" sign-in process that enables them to immediately "put themselves on the map" with whatever their concern or expertise might be.

This has been a vision in me for a long time. Just imagine that we somehow round up 10, or 100, or 1,000 volunteer "netweavers" who each have a little bit of time every week to punch in some connectivity to an inclusive/holistic framework -- bringing in their favorite people and special groups they believe in.

Get them all clicking in to a common field of tags -- where every point everybody wants to make has a place, and the entire process is guided by very simple principles like "mutual respect" and "listening" -- and this could (?) become a stunning new kind of "we the people" collaborative growth.

PEOPLE WHO CARE

Come as you are, bring us your best, it won't take long, and you will be appreciated.

Everybody just relaxes a little bit into a shared space, bringing their piece. We smooth it all out and keep it friendly. An online database is a bottomless thing -- we can assimilate a zillion facets....
